The village revitalization program in Roccacinquemiglia, a hamlet of Castel di Sangro (AQ), continues with a new restoration project for the former Church of San Giovanni Battista. The aim is to bring back function and prominence to a building now in disrepair by converting it into a multipurpose hall for conferences, cultural events, exhibitions and public meetings.
Developed in coordination with the Superintendency, the project involves an investment of more than €600,000 and seeks to combine the conservation of historic structures with contemporary architectural solutions that respect the village setting.
The municipal administration highlights that the intervention will both protect the collective memory associated with the site and provide a new public use perspective, strengthening the area’s appeal and contributing to the enhancement of the historic centre.
For visitors and the local community: the restored former church will become a flexible venue for cultural programming, conferences and local initiatives, creating new opportunities for social gathering and promotion of the village.
