At the Gates of Milan: The Prehistoric Park

Autore: Redazione 01/08/2025 13:25

Less than half an hour from Milan, inside the Adda Sud Park, lies the Prehistoric Park of Rivolta d’Adda — a vast, 100-hectare ancient forest that combines fun and learning, offering children the chance to travel back in time to the age of dinosaurs and discover the history of life on Earth.

The main trail winds through wooded paths dotted with around 50 life-size reconstructions of prehistoric creatures: from the brontosaurus and tyrannosaurus rex to mammoths and early humans. Each model is set scenically among clearings, lakes, and wooden bridges, with educational panels providing scientific insights in language accessible to both kids and school groups.

But the Prehistoric Park isn’t just about dinosaurs. Visitors will also find a wildlife area with animals roaming in semi-freedom, a tourist train that circles the entire park (a favorite among children), a green maze, two playgrounds, a picnic area, and even a paleontological museum. To complete the experience, there are cafés, kiosks, and rest areas, making the park ideal for a full day of outdoor family fun.
