From 6 May to 2 August 2026, Museo ACdB on the third floor of Palazzo Monferrato (via San Lorenzo 21, Alessandria) stages an exhibition exploring the city’s ties to the Giro d’Italia. The show combines historic memorabilia with digital installations and an immersive room designed to engage families and younger visitors.
The exhibition frames the bicycle as a cultural and social artifact, tracing its rise from a late-19th-century curiosity to a cornerstone of Italian sport. Exhibits include historic jerseys, trophies and items from private and public collections that map Alessandria’s cycling heritage.
The exhibition complements the start of the 13th stage of the Giro d’Italia, leaving Alessandria on 22 May 2026 (Alessandria–Verbania, 189 km, 1,400 m elevation). It gives visitors a historical framework to better appreciate the race and the city’s cycling legacy.
Displays and interactive contents are designed to make the museum’s collection accessible to non-specialist audiences: family-oriented activities and clear narrative panels help contextualize sporting achievements within local history.
