VIATICUS – the Festival of Small-Scale Tourism – makes its debut in Massa Martana, designed to place communication at the heart of sustainable development for villages and local communities. Supported by the municipality within a PNRR-funded project, the festival promotes "shared-action" communication to tell territorial stories through authentic, participatory experiences.

Program and highlights

The three-day program blends nature, culture, training and local tastings:

• 24 May – pre-festival experience on Monte Cerchio: guided walk to the Castelliere (known as the "Stonehenge of Umbria"), site-specific art installations and local product samplings;
• 25 May – main day with thematic panels, training sessions and case studies covering food & wine, long-distance walking routes, cycle tourism and wine tourism, alongside tastings of regional wines, PDO olive oil and cheeses;
• 26 May – territory tour to explore archaeological sites and signature local productions of oil and wine.

Who should attend

VIATICUS targets local tourism operators, communicators, public administrators and residents keen to promote their village through genuine experiences. The festival aims to foster territorial networks and tangible local development through collaborative communication strategies.
