Alessandra Ponente to represent Italy at EuropaFestival

Sicilian singer-songwriter and actress Alessandra Ponente has been chosen to officially represent Italy at "EuropaFestival – The Sound of Europe." She will present a musical set blending Sicilian roots, singer-songwriter writing and international folk-pop sonorities.

The event will take place on 9 May 2026 at the Hofgarten in Düsseldorf, with performances scheduled between 13:00 and 16:00.

• Accompanying band: Gaetano Mirabella (guitar and co-writer), Chicco Bologna (percussion).
• Program: songs from the album project "RIAVULI" and reworked folk classics from Southern Italy.
• Festival scope: a lineup of European artists selected to showcase the diversity of contemporary music scenes.

Ponente's participation is framed as a contribution to the festival's cultural dialogue: she said she intends to bring "my music and my land" to build an authentic connection with the audience and fellow artists.

The festival is promoted by European and local cultural bodies and supported by institutional partners that aim to enhance cultural identities through music.
