Spring brings Campania's villages to life: narrow streets fill with light, landscapes turn green and local traditions return to the foreground. Below are five historic centers that offer scenic views, activities and genuine local flavors ideal for a slow, restorative trip.
Summonte is an inland village defined by stone alleys and the Torre Angioina, which overlooks the valley and the Partenio mountains. In spring, trails in the Parco del Partenio become accessible for light trekking and nature walks.
Monteverde blends tradition with cultural renewal: the Castello Baronale acts as the historic heart and the Interactive Wheat Museum explains the area's agricultural heritage. The surrounding hills are ideal for gentle springtime walks.
On the Amalfi Coast, Conca dei Marini retains an intimate character, with white houses and sea terraces. The Grotta dello Smeraldo is the main natural attraction, while the village offers authentic views without the summer crowds.
Nestled in the Matese mountains, Cusano Mutri is a stone village with castle remains, medieval alleys and sweeping valley views. It is also a gateway to the Parco Regionale del Matese, perfect for spring hikes and outdoor days.
Furore is a vertical coastal village known as “the town that doesn’t exist”: the Fiordo di Furore is an iconic viewpoint, and murals and public art turn the village into an open-air museum.
These five villages show a less predictable, authentic side of Campania — ideal for slow travel in spring, between history, nature and regional flavors.
