Rome: Sovrintendenza Capitolina events (17–23 April 2026)
The Sovrintendenza Capitolina offers a varied programme across Rome's civic museums and cultural venues. From 17 to 23 April 2026 visitors can attend temporary exhibitions, editorial presentations, guided routes, family activities and planetarium shows.
Exhibitions and book events
- Pedro Cano: Siete e Roma – Casino dei Principi, Villa Torlonia. Over one hundred works by the Spanish artist; exhibition runs from 18 April to 7 June 2026.
- Books at the Museum – Museo di Roma at Palazzo Braschi. Friday 17 April, 17:00: presentation of Vittoria Colonna lettere. Antologia della corrispondenza with curator Marianna Liguori and invited scholars.
Accessibility and women's writing
- Thursday 23 April, 16:30 – Roma Racconta… session focused on accessibility, with projects showcased from the Museo dei Popoli Italici in Veroli.
- Thursday 23 April, 17:00 – Museo di Roma in Trastevere: conference on poet Ewa Lipska as part of the series The Words of Women Writers.
Resistance Day initiatives
Activities linked to the Resistance Day run from 23 to 26 April, exploring places and events connected to the Liberation and the birth of the Republic:
- Thursday 23 April, 09:00 – opening of the documentary route From the Resistance to the Constitution: Rome, City Open to the Future at the Capitol Archive.
- Thursday 23 April, afternoon – events at Villa Torlonia: Casina delle Civette (15:00) and the visit to Mussolini's bunker (16:00); at 18:00 an appointment at the Alberto Moravia House Museum.
Cinema and Casa del Cinema
Casa del Cinema continues screenings tied to the exhibition Lanterne magiche. Photographs from the Valerio De Paolis collection. Friday 17 April: Into the Wild (18:00) and Miracle at Le Havre (20:00).
