Discover Some of the Best Things to Do with Us!

1. Visit the Buonconsiglio Castle

Considered one of Trento’s most famous landmarks and among the most beautiful monuments in Trentino-Alto Adige, Castello del Buonconsiglio is a complex of different buildings overlooking the city — including Castelvecchio, Torre Aquila, Magno Palazzo, and Giunta Albertina. Best known for its connection to the Council of Trent, it houses the Cycle of the Months, one of the most important fresco series of the late Italian Middle Ages, and the Provincial Museum.

2. Explore Ancient Tridentum

The Roman city of Tridentum, located beneath modern-day Trento, is one of the earliest urban centers in the area. Rediscovered through archaeological excavations, it once served as a hub for trade and communication thanks to its strategic position. Today, in the Sas Underground Archaeological Area, visitors can admire ancient houses, sections of walls, and drainage systems.

3. Take the Cable Car to Sardagna

Built and opened in 1925 from a project by engineer Othmar Haas, the Sardagna cable car connects Trento’s station to the hilltop village of Sardagna, overcoming a 400-meter elevation difference. This panoramic terrace, managed by Trentino Trasporti and open from 7:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., offers breathtaking views of the city, Doss Trento, and the Virgolana Plateau. From here, you can easily continue toward Monte Bondone for more adventures.

4. Experience Outdoor Activities on Monte Bondone

Part of the Garda Prealps, Monte Bondone is among Trento’s most popular natural destinations — home to Europe’s first sled lift (1934). It offers hiking trails, ski slopes, trekking routes, paragliding, horseback riding, and ice skating, making it ideal for all types of visitors. Managed by the MUSE, it is also a protected nature reserve, rich in Alpine flora and fauna. Don’t miss the Viote Alpine Botanical Garden, one of the oldest in Europe!

5. Visit the MUSE

One of Europe’s most important science museums, the MUSE (Museo delle Scienze) was designed by Renzo Piano and inaugurated in 2013, replacing the old Tridentine Museum of Natural Sciences. Spread across five interactive floors, it offers an engaging journey through Alpine nature, geology, and biodiversity — perfect for both adults and children. The panoramic terrace at the top provides a stunning view of Trento and its surroundings.

6. Explore the Orrido di Ponte Alto

Located near Trento and accessible by bus, the Orrido di Ponte Alto is a spectacular natural canyon carved by the Fersina stream. This fascinating site allows visitors to experience the beauty of one of Italy’s most impressive natural wonders, following a scenic and adventurous path among waterfalls and red rock gorges.

7. Visit the Basilica of San Vigilio

Located in the city center, the Basilica of San Vigilio is considered the spiritual heart of Trento. Declared a national monument in 1940, it serves as the seat of the Archdiocese of Trento and was founded by Saint Vigilius in the 4th century to enshrine the relics of the Anaunian martyrs. Situated near the Diocesan Museum, the early Christian basilica, and the Civic Tower, Trento’s cathedral is a must-see for art, history, and architecture lovers.

8. Climb Doss Trento to Visit the Alpini Museum

This small hill overlooking the Adige River offers a scenic route through Trento’s natural beauty, leading to the remains of the Paleochristian Basilica, the Mausoleum of Cesare Battisti, and the National Historical Museum of the Alpini, founded by the Trentino Legion to preserve the memory of Italy’s mountain troops.

9. Stroll Around Lake Toblino

Located about 20 km from Trento, Lake Toblino is one of the most romantic spots in the region. Surrounded by vineyards and forests, it is famous for its lakeside castle, now a renowned restaurant. The ideal place to enjoy nature’s quiet beauty and a timeless atmosphere.

10. Taste Trentino’s Traditional Cuisine

No visit to Trento is complete without savoring its traditional dishes: canederli (bread dumplings), strangolapreti (spinach gnocchi), tortel di patate (potato pancakes), and spätzle. A perfect way to experience the region’s history and culture through its authentic flavors!
