Inclusive workshop and walk on the Via Francigena

Ivrea and Bollengo will host two days dedicated to accessible tourism on April 17 and 18, born from the collaboration between the cross‑border projects IN3ViE and HIKE4ALL. The initiative aims to make major cultural routes more usable for everyone by removing physical, sensory and social barriers.

  • When: April 17 (workshop) and April 18 (walk).
  • Where: Teatro Giacosa in Ivrea; Ivrea–Bollengo route (about 8 km).
  • Workshop: “Via Francigena: moving towards accessible tourism”, 9:30–12:30, featuring two sessions on strategies and best practices and the official presentation of IN3ViE.
  • Walk for all: meeting at 8:00 at the Via Francigena Infopoint in Ivrea, departure at 8:30; arrival in Bollengo with a guided visit to the church of Santi Pietro e Paolo and a refreshment.
  • Participants: a group from the Aosta Valley of 12 people, including 10 with hearing disabilities, will join to exchange and share inclusive practices.

IN3ViE aims to raise hospitality standards across Valais (Vallese), Aosta Valley and Piedmont, while HIKE4ALL, coordinated by the European Association of the Via Francigena, promotes accessible hiking routes along Europe’s cultural itineraries. Together they seek to turn the territory into a testing ground for inclusive hospitality that enhances local communities and supports sustainable development.

The workshop is open to the public until seats are full. For details and registration, contact local infopoints or the official channels of the involved projects.
