Viterbo: construction starts for the Borgo della Cultura

Work has officially begun to transform the former Ospedale Grande degli Infermi into the new Borgo della Cultura. A recent technical inspection involving the local Superintendency and regional and municipal technical offices confirmed the start of initial recovery operations within the historic centre.

The project aims to enhance a significant historic asset and provide citizens with multifunctional cultural spaces. Preliminary activities, either completed or ongoing, are preparing the site for more complex phases of restoration.

Authorities have emphasised the importance of protective and monitoring measures: local police units are taking part in oversight activities to secure the site and safeguard the historic asset during this transitional phase.
