Visiting Frontino: What to See in the Smallest Village in the Marche Region

Autore: Redazione 02/08/2025 19:42

Nestled between the hills of Marche and Emilia-Romagna lies Frontino, one of the smallest villages in Italy, which in recent years has earned the reputation of being one of the most beautiful villages in the country.

What to See in Frontino

Despite its small size, the village of Frontino offers numerous attractions not to be missed.

From its restored historic center to the traditional stone houses, it has become one of the most visited destinations in the Marche region.

Iconic landmarks include the medieval walls and the Torrione, the Montefiorentino Convent—one of the largest Franciscan complexes in the region—and the Church of San Pietro, built in the 17th century.

Also noteworthy is the Bread Museum, housed in an old mill, which revives the ancient farming traditions of the Montefeltro area.

Events, Culture, and Traditions

Throughout the year, the small village of Frontino hosts numerous cultural events and food festivals that celebrate the traditions of Montefeltro.

Among the typical products to taste during these festivals are: fossa cheese, artisan cured meats, and traditional local sweets.

What to See Around Frontino

Just a few kilometers from Frontino, you can explore the entire Montefeltro area, including Carpegna, famous for its DOP prosciutto, Pennabilli, a village rich in culture, and San Leo, historically linked to Count Cagliostro.

Moreover, for those seeking rest and relaxation, the thermal baths of Macerata Feltria are easily accessible from Frontino.
