The exhibition traces how the heroic image developed in Italy from the years following unification through the early post-war period. It juxtaposes sculpture and painting, featuring key works by Leonardo Bistolfi and Eugenio Baroni alongside pieces by Gaetano Previati, Giuseppe Pellizza da Volpedo, Plinio Nomellini, Libero Andreotti and Eliseo Sala.

A selection from the "Martelli-Bistolfi 2021/2023" donation — including drawings, bas-reliefs and restored plaster works — enriches the display, framed by the scientific committee's curatorial line.
