On Sunday 10 May the Museo Civico e Gipsoteca Bistolfi will hold a guided tour of the exhibition that examines representations of the hero from the early years of unified Italy through the post‑World War I period. The display pairs sculptures and paintings by artists such as Bistolfi, Baroni, Previati and Pellizza da Volpedo, including restored and previously unseen works.
The exhibition includes a notable selection from the “Martelli‑Bistolfi 2021/2023” donation, presenting restored and some unpublished works. Scholarly curation and loans from museums and private collections enrich the narrative and shed light on stylistic shifts and cultural references of the era.
Practical tip: arrive a few minutes before the start time. The tour is suitable for a general audience; for further information contact the museum by phone or email.
