In 2026 the Centro Pecci in Prato presents a dual exhibition project that pairs a major donation of post‑war works with a critical reappraisal of an important Italian photographer. Both shows open with a vernissage on 30 May 2026 from 18:00 to 21:00.
Curated by Stefano Pezzato and installed by Ibrahim Kombarji, ROTTE stems from Carlo Palli’s extensive gift and traces critical trajectories in late 20th‑century art. The exhibition presents around 150 works—paintings, objet‑based pieces, documented performances, visual poetry and archival materials—mapping the intersections between different artistic languages and disruptive practices.
Featured artists (selected):
CARNALE, curated by Alessandra Acocella, Michele Bertolino and Monica Gallai with set design by Giuseppe Ricupero, is the first institutional survey in Italy dedicated to Verita Monselles (1929–2004). Produced in collaboration with the Archivio Fotografico Toscano and the Fondo Verita Monselles, the show examines photography as a tool for autobiographical and social inquiry, focusing on body, identity and women’s roles within visual culture from the 1960s to the 1980s.
Both exhibitions strengthen Centro Pecci’s role as a centre for research and conservation of late 20th‑century artistic practices and shed light on underrepresented figures in Italian photographic history.
