The Fondazione Musei Senesi (FMS) has appointed six recent graduates under 30 to participate in the FMS Academy, a program combining classroom learning with hands‑on internships at museums within the local network. The initiative is designed to develop practical skills in museum management, cultural communication and public engagement.
The initial phase includes one month of multidisciplinary lessons and workshops led by sector professionals. Key topics covered are:
Internships start with a six‑month placement and may be extended by another six months. The initiative is funded by the regional FSE+ Toscana 2021–2027 program under the Giovanisì project, in collaboration with local authorities and territorial partners.
The program bridges conservation and communication, positioning museums as inclusive social assets while supporting young professionals entering the cultural heritage sector with up‑to‑date, practical experience. It also strengthens collaboration across the Siena museum network by facilitating skill sharing among institutions and cultural operators.
