Vinitaly 2026 recognizes leading figures in Italian wine culture

Vinitaly returns to Veronafiere from April 12 to 15 with awards celebrating individuals and organizations that have contributed to the promotion and enhancement of Italian wine. Presentation ceremonies are scheduled during the opening and closing days of the fair.

The 58th edition's honorees include notable names from the wine and dining sectors, selected for their cultural and international impact.

  • Attilio Scienza — Career Award: honored for his scientific and educational contributions to vine genetics and terroir studies, and for framing wine as a cultural expression.
  • Lamberto Frescobaldi — Vinitaly International Award (Italy): recognized for promoting Italian wine and for cultural initiatives that connect production and heritage.
  • Antonio Stopper — Vinitaly International Award (Abroad): acknowledged for supporting the presence of Italian producers in European markets.
  • Valdo Spumanti and the Consorzio di Tutela del Vino Bardolino — 100 Years of Excellence Awards: celebrating companies and consortia that have brought Italian wines and territories to international attention.
  • Gucci Osteria (Osteria Gucci) — Best Restaurant Format Award: a new category that highlights the role of restaurants as promoters of culinary culture and their connection to Italian wines.

An additional new recognition, «Taste Of Italy – Wine List Excellent», targets restaurants, wine bars and hospitality venues that actively promote Italian wine lists. The awards aim to spotlight not only production quality but also the storytelling of territories, native grape varieties and sustainable practices.

Official presentations will take place at various moments during Vinitaly, with the inauguration hosting several key ceremonies. For the full schedule and a detailed list of winners, consult the official communications from Veronafiere and the event organizers.
