Vincenzo Scolamiero — With Some Part of the Earth

From 1 April to 17 May 2026, Pavilion 9a at the Mattatoio di Roma hosts With Some Part of the Earth, an exhibition that traces fifteen years of Vincenzo Scolamiero's painting research. The show presents more than thirty works including canvases, boards, papers and artist books, and is promoted by the Municipality of Rome together with the Mattatoio Foundation.

The selection highlights a practice nourished by poetry, music and the subtle signs of everyday life. Scolamiero's painting functions as a space for reflection: thin veils of color, luminous transitions and traces informed by the body's rhythm are central to his work.

Throughout the exhibition, the concept of emptiness operates as a compositional element, from restrained minimalist fields to pieces that develop richer tonal and structural relationships influenced by the artist’s dialogue with sound and literature.

Why visit

The exhibition is an effective overview of an artist who continuously experiments with materials and techniques — pigments, oils, inks and acrylics — to modulate surface, transparency and form. Visitors will notice the balance between bodily gesture and compositional space and the oscillation between abstraction and occasional figurative elements.
