On 29 March 2026 at 18:00 Galleria Roma 53 (Corso Roma, 53) in Noicattaro (BA) will host the opening of the photographic exhibition Easter Rites in Seville and Noicattaro: history and symbolism. The show examines the historical ties and shared symbolic language between Seville's Holy Week processions and the local rituals of Noicattaro.
The exhibition foregrounds a cultural dialogue between southern Italy and Spain through a photographic documentation of key Holy Week moments: processions, ritual garments, religious symbols and collective gestures. The images aim to convey both the visual power of the ceremonies and the inner, personal dimension of ritual experience within contemporary communities.
The show is organised by Latvian-born gallerist Madara Liturri as part of ongoing cultural exchanges between Latvia and Italy. The photographic section, curated by Prof. Vito Didonna and Nico Lozupone, presents contemporary visual interpretations of local ritual heritage. Poet Franco Leone will offer readings during the inauguration.
For visiting hours, access arrangements and exhibition duration, please contact Galleria Roma 53 directly. The exhibition is an opportunity to explore the historical roots and symbolic meanings of Easter traditions across the Mediterranean.
