Gran Premio di Venzone: sport boosting the village

On 28 March 2026 Venzone hosted the first edition of the Gran Premio di Venzone, a road race that officially opened the Trofeo Friuli 2026. Around 400 participants—including elite runners, amateurs and young talents—took part, racing along routes that showcased the village's historic sites.

Regional finance councillor Barbara Zilli highlighted that sporting events like this are valuable tools to promote the historical and scenic assets of small towns, while encouraging youth participation and community spirit.
