The Museo Nazionale di Villa Guinigi in Lucca is running a series of themed guided tours for the monographic exhibition dedicated to Luigi Norfini, a central figure in Italian Risorgimento painting. The exhibition gathers works by Norfini and his contemporaries to trace artistic and historical themes from the late 19th century.
The display follows both chronological and thematic lines, highlighting Norfini's production and his depictions of historical events, portraits and scenes of bourgeois and aristocratic life that reflect the era of Italian unification and the early 20th century.
Reservation recommended. Participation in the tours is included in the museum admission ticket.
Curated by Luisa Berretti, Emanuele Pellegrini and Ettore Spalletti, the exhibition features loans from major museums and private collections, some items shown publicly for the first time. The themed tours aim to enhance the visitor experience by providing interpretative keys to Norfini's work and the cultural-historical context of his time.
For practical information on opening times, tickets and bookings, consult the official Museo Nazionale di Villa Guinigi website or contact the museum ticket office. Attending a guided tour is a recommended way to gain deeper insights into the technical and narrative aspects of the works on display and to place Norfini within the broader history of Italian art.
