Videocittà 2026: Watercult explored through immersive installations and international artists

When: 10–12 July 2026 • Where: Gazometro area, Rome.

Videocittà, the festival of vision and digital culture conceived by Francesco Rutelli, returns for its ninth edition with the theme "Watercult". The program investigates water as cultural, environmental and energetic resource through contemporary artistic languages, blending light installations, immersive environments, virtual reality, video art and live performances.

  • Site-specific installations and projections on the main Gazometro (G4).
  • Immersive works in the G2 area and at Opificio 41.
  • Live audiovisuals, DJ sets, talks and multidisciplinary performances.

Featured artists and projects

  • Cao Yuxi — international visual project.
  • Adrian Paci — Albanian-born artist based in Milan, exploring memory and social spaces.
  • Mace and Populous — producers/DJs bringing audio-visual collaborations.
  • Donato Dozzy with Neel — techno sets interacting with light installations.
  • Giuseppe La Spada, Francesca Heart and performer Amanda Lana — collaborative immersive piece "Water: always the same, always different" in G2.
  • "In Lympha" — large immersive installation produced by Eni in partnership with Videocittà at Opificio 41.

The 2026 edition is supported by Eni as main partner and is curated by a team including Anna Lea Antolini (artistic direction), Michele Lotti (creative direction) and Natalia Bagnato (strategic consultant). The festival aims to narrate water through digital experimentation and live practices, engaging both local and international audiences.

Visitor notes: events take place across multiple venues within the Gazometro area; check the official schedule for precise times and locations of individual installations and performances.
