VerdePisa: floriculture fair in the historic centre

When: 17–19 April 2026. Where: streets and squares of Pisa's historic centre (Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II, Corso Italia, Piazza XX Settembre, Logge di Banchi, Ponte di Mezzo, Piazza Garibaldi, Largo Ciro Menotti, Borgo Stretto, Via Oberdan).

VerdePisa is a refreshed, city-wide exhibition route dedicated to plants and green culture. Exhibitors from across Italy will show potted and cut blooms, ornamental and fruit plants, succulents, outdoor exotic species, and gardening and allotment products.

What to expect

  • Exhibition stands spread through key downtown locations.
  • Meetings & Workshops area at the Logge di Banchi: presentations, talks and practical workshops for all ages.
  • Demonstrations on bonsai, kokedama and terrarium building.
  • Side exhibitions: botanical exhibition at the Graphic Museum and bonsai & suiseki show in the Municipal Hall entrance.
  • Free admission along the exhibition route and to meetings; promotional entry to the Botanical Garden at €3.

Speakers and activities

Highlights include Lorenzo Peruzzi (Director of Pisa Botanical Garden), botanical painter Maria Rita Stirpe, Monica Botta, Laura Gatti, Stefania De Pascale, Francesco and Andrea Mati, Paolo Galli and Damiano Remorini. Children's labs take place with partners such as LEGO Natura and the Ethical Packaging Foundation.

Exhibitions and venues

  • Graphic Museum – exhibition "A Flower a Day. Images for the Gardenia Agenda" (opening Saturday 18 April; free visit 18 April–18 May during museum hours).
  • Municipal Hall entrance – bonsai and suiseki exhibition curated by Arte bonsai Pisa.
  • Botanical Garden – reduced entry €3 during the event days.

  • 16:00 – Lorenzo Peruzzi: "Urban biodiversity"
  • 17:00 – Laura Gatti: "Growing trees on buildings"
  • 18:00 – Monica Botta: "Urban health and healing gardens"
  • Workshops: LEGO Natura activities, bonsai and kokedama sessions (various times)

Sunday 19 April

  • 10:00 – stands open
  • 15:00 – Stefania De Pascale: "Planting potatoes on Mars"
  • 16:00 – Paolo Galli: "Living according to nature"
  • 17:00 – Andrea Mati: "Healing with green"
  • 18:00 – Damiano Remorini: "The role of trees in climate adaptation and mitigation"
  • Workshops: continuous LEGO nature activities and bonsai workshops
