Dreaming in Art at Palazzo Mathis: a collective showcasing Langhe and Roero’s creative multiverses

The third edition of Dreaming in Art presents a multidisciplinary route through contemporary art from the UNESCO landscape of Langhe and Roero. The project fosters exchanges between different artistic languages — painting, sculpture, photography, digital art and writing — to highlight local cultural identities via recent works and immersive installations.

Exhibition layout

• Digital: immersive installation “Tuber magnatum” by Collettivo dell’Antimateria, curated by Diego Repetto, reflecting on territory and immateriality.
• Sculpture: a tribute to Gioachino Chiesa featuring plaster, bronze and wood pieces that address fragility, ties and rootedness.
• Painting: a selection of local and regional artists investigating human landscapes and contemporary identity.
• Photography: visual projects focused on the cultural and social landscape of Langhe and Roero.
• Writing: texts and narratives that contextualize the exhibited works and offer critical and poetic perspectives.

Notable painting contributors include Roberto Andreoli, Maura Boccato, Nadia Canevaro, while photography features Giovanni Gutamo and Paolo Vergnano. The sculpture section, organized by the Associazione Anforianus, also includes unpublished handwritten notes by Gioachino Chiesa and a narrative interpretation by actor Paolo Tibaldi.

Vernissage and side program

The vernissage takes place on Friday 10 April at 17:30 and will be accompanied by a musical suite by maestro Cristiano Alasia. Admission to the opening is free until seats are exhausted; refreshments will follow.
