HEAD. Fossil Ink Sognograms — Luigi Bellinzoni at AMIGDALAB

From 27 March to 3 May 2026 the creative space AMIGDALAB in Rome presents the solo show HEAD. Fossil Ink Sognograms, curated by Gianluca Marziani. The exhibition gathers a broad selection of ink-on-paper works that focus on the human head conceived as an imaginative topography and visual-semantic device.

Bellinzoni’s drawings treat the head as a concentrated source of thought and sensation that goes beyond organic anatomy: two-dimensional forms, textured surfaces and monochrome signs converge to suggest dreamlike presences, archaic echoes and fossil-like visions. The artist favors heavy cellulose paper and a restrained drawing gesture, where the mark becomes the synthesis of thought and matter.

The project highlights formal contrasts — hard/soft, thin/thick, quiet/forceful — presenting heads that are not portraits but rather "sognograms": surfaces that hold memories, emotions and atmospheric traces without literal likeness.

Performance and opening

For the opening, a performance curated by Anna Paola Lo Presti titled CODICE OBIC will be presented. Lo Presti has devised a culinary piece — a vertical strawberry mille-feuille — inspired by Bellinzoni’s layered approach, conceived as a sensory analogue to the stratified gestures and materials in the artworks.
