TriBu.City Fest debuts in Trieste: six days of music and Central European dialogue

From 21 to 26 April 2026 Trieste will host TriBu.City Fest, a new international festival aimed at strengthening the cultural axis Trieste–Budapest–Vienna. The event brings together writers, musicians, institutions and cultural professionals to create a transnational laboratory focused on contemporary Central Europe.

• Main venues: Galleria Tergesteo, Libreria Ubik, "Giuseppe Tartini" Conservatory of Music, Piazza Giuseppe Verdi
• Programme highlights: exhibitions, concerts, panel discussions, the Gran Ballo Mitteleuropeo and the international chess tournament "Memorial Giorgio Pressburger"
• Partners: Municipality of Debrecen, Dante Alighieri Society in Budapest, Hungarian Academy in Rome and other cultural organisations

The festival opens on 21 April with events dedicated to Giorgio Pressburger, recalling his contribution to cultural exchange between Italy and Hungary. Scheduled activities include concerts at the Conservatory, book presentations and institutional dialogues with creative and economic stakeholders.

Born from the TriBu.City project (launched in 2024), the festival aims to consolidate cultural and creative ties among participating cities and to offer opportunities for young talents and professional exchanges in the cultural sector.
