May Tournament at the Court of King Arduino 2026
From 16 to 24 May 2026 Cuorgnè (Turin) brings medieval traditions back to life with the May Tournament, a historical reenactment combining food, spectacle and local culture in the town's historic centre. The 2026 edition features the return of the traditional taverns in via Arduino and piazza Pinelli as focal points for community and gastronomy.
Program highlights
- Saturday 16 May, 21:30 – Ceremonial Entrance of the Royals: presentation of King Arduino and Queen Berta 2026 at Teatro Pinelli.
- Saturday 16 May, 22:00 – Medieval Night in piazza Pinelli and the Drummers' Competition, a heated contest between borough groups.
- Friday 22 May, 20:30 – Barrel Race: two representatives from each borough compete in a test of speed and skill; concert follows at Arena Rex Imperi.
- Saturday 23 May, 21:00 – Historical parade with hundreds of costumed participants and an evening folk‑medieval concert.
- Sunday 24 May – Family day: treasure hunt under the porticoes of via Arduino, educational workshops, medieval market (from 10:30) and the Children’s Borough in piazza del Comune. Afternoon royal procession and closing Palio prize ceremony at 21:00.
