AGOGHÉ in Pisa: presentation of archaeological research, excavations and university museums

On 21 May 2026 the Gipsoteca of Ancient Art and the Antiquarium at the University of Pisa host the presentation of the newest issues of AGOGHÉ, a journal dedicated to archaeological studies, excavation reports and museum practices within university contexts.

The meeting is aimed at researchers, museum professionals and archaeology enthusiasts who want to learn about recent studies and museum initiatives related to accessibility and heritage enhancement.

Planned programme:

  • 11:00 – 11:45: introduction by the journal's editors Anna Anguissola and Salvatore Vitale, with Letizia Gualandi (editorial manager) and Maurizio Iacono; interventions by the volume curators.
  • 12:00 – 13:00: seminar "Temporary exhibitions in antiquity" given by Elena Calandra, professor of classical archaeology and director of the Archaeological Museum at the University of Pavia.

The presentations will include recent volumes: AGOGHÉ XIX (Urban building in the Roman and Late Antique period), AGOGHÉ XX-XXI (Writings in honor of Agrigento, Capital of Culture 2025) and AGOGHÉ XXII (University plaster cast collections. New technologies for accessibility).
