Superbum Bike 2026: a ride through UNESCO sites, nature and history

Superbum Bike 2026 is a cycle touring proposal that highlights the Tiburtine territory and its UNESCO heritage, combining sport, landscape and culture in a single day experience.

Start and logistical base

The logistical base will be the Anfiteatro di Bleso, where registration, bib pickup and welcome areas will be set up. The official start is planned from Piazza Garibaldi in Tivoli.

Route and main stops

The route alternates paved and off‑road sections to showcase natural views and historic sites:

  • Start: Piazza Garibaldi (Tivoli)
  • Passage through Santa Maria Nova and San Gregorio da Sassola with a stop at Castello di San Gregorio (Stop 1)
  • Gravel sections crossing centuries-old olive groves towards San Vittorino
  • Official refreshment at Agriturismo San Germano (Stop 2)
  • Final trio featuring sites of outstanding cultural value:
    • Villa Adriana (Stop 3) – major archaeological complex
    • Santuario di Ercole Vincitore reached via Via Tecla (Stop 4)
    • Villa d'Este (Stop 5) – pedestrian passage through Renaissance gardens and fountains, including the Fountain of Neptune
  • Finish: return to Piazza Garibaldi

Who should attend

The route suits trained cyclists and visitors seeking cultural cycle touring: mixed surfaces require good fitness, but the experience is accessible to regular outdoor cyclists.

Objectives and cultural value

The event aims to promote the Aniene Valley, encourage sustainable cycle tourism and increase awareness of Tivoli's UNESCO sites, notably Villa Adriana and Villa d'Este, celebrated for their historical and landscape significance.
