Silvia Mariotti: "Anime di Cristallo" ('Souls of Crystal') at Rivafiorita

On April 4 at 17:30 Rivafiorita in Viale della Vittoria, Porto San Giorgio, opens the solo exhibition "Anime di Cristallo" by artist Silvia Mariotti, curated by Matilde Galletti and promoted by Karussell APS. The show runs until May 15.

The project comes from a two-year research developed between Italy and Portugal, supported by the Directorate General for Contemporary Creativity of the Ministry of Culture within the Italian Council. Mariotti's work draws on her experience in the Azores, where volcanic landscapes and rich biodiversity prompted an exploration of the boundary between organic and inorganic matter and the human role in environmental transformation processes.

Using photography and installations, Mariotti builds hybrid ecosystems—suspended worlds where natural and artificial elements merge into evocative, imaginary forms. The project engages with the theories of biologist Ernst Haeckel, reconsidered with input from scientist Laura Tripaldi, to frame an interdisciplinary reflection on nature, science and change.

After earlier international stops in Portugal, the Porto San Giorgio presentation is a new chapter of the exhibition's trajectory, which will conclude in summer 2026 at the Macte in Termoli.
