AMI Green Week 2026: April 10–22, 130 events across 15 regions

The fourth edition of Ambiente Mare Italia's AMI Green Week was presented in Rome and will take place from April 10 to 22, 2026. The national initiative includes 130 events in 15 Italian regions and is supported by several public and maritime institutions.

Growing since 2023, the Green Week aims to promote civic participation and environmental awareness by engaging schools, volunteers, associations and local communities. Previous editions have featured hundreds of events, involved numerous municipalities and reached many thousands of participants.

The 2026 slogan is “Smile at the Planet, Smile at the Future. Nature smiles at us, let’s learn to respond”. For the first time the event will not include Maestro Beppe Vessicchio, a long-standing testimonial; the organisation acknowledged his past contributions with gratitude.

Alessandro Botti, President of Ambiente Mare Italia, emphasized the collective nature of the initiative: “It is not just a calendar of events but a collective experience showing how sustainability can become everyday practice and a shared value.”

Four thematic pillars for 2026

• Environmental education and new generations: school programmes to build ecological awareness.
• Active protection and environmental monitoring: clean-ups, monitoring and concrete interventions on ecosystems.
• Environment and active inclusion: activities promoting participation of people with disabilities and socially vulnerable groups.
• Culture and territorial enhancement: conferences, excursions and initiatives to promote biodiversity and urban care.

The AMI Green Week 2026 aims to be a wide-ranging moment of civic engagement and public outreach across Italy, involving citizens, students and volunteers in local actions for sustainability.
