Sesto San Giovanni joins the FAI to promote the "Viale delle Ville"

The council of Sesto San Giovanni has approved joining the Fondo per l’Ambiente Italiano (FAI) as a premium supporting municipality. The move is part of the 2026–2028 planning document and seeks to leverage the city's historic heritage as a driver for cultural tourism.

The core of the plan is the so-called "Viale delle Ville", an integrated system of historic villas the city will promote through public openings, festivals and cultural programmes. "Our Viale delle Ville is a symbol of beauty and identity recognized beyond local boundaries," said Mayor Roberto Di Stefano.

• Villas involved: Villa Visconti d’Aragona (central library), Villa Zorn (exhibition spaces and forthcoming dance hall), Villa Mylius, Villa Puricelli Guerra (ALER headquarters), Villa Pelucca (managed by Fondazione La Pelucca).
• Planned activities: public openings, themed festivals (Art in the villa, theatre, concerts), book presentations, exhibitions and socio-cultural inclusion initiatives.
• Events: the villas will be included for the first time in the FAI Days, offering guided visits and discovery routes for residents and visitors.

The partnership with FAI aims to combine conservation and promotion by building a coordinated network for modern management of historic sites, increasing territorial visibility and attracting new audiences. The city presents the membership as a strategic investment in cultural and economic development.
