Seeds Blooming Art in Gibellina: schedule and practical details

From 18 April to 31 October 2026, Gibellina hosts Seeds Blooming Art, an off-fair featuring exhibitions, performances, workshops and artist residencies. The program explores contemporary art, local traditions and ecological sustainability, offering moments for public participation and community engagement.

Main program highlights

• 18 April – Opening at the temporary showroom (largo Joseph Beuys) of the exhibition "BPER Art, a sculpture for the Strega Prize shortlist". Eight commemorative sculptures on display until 22 April.
• 8 May – Seeds in Motion. From drought nurseries to farming communities: Sicily stop of the Climavore x Jameel project (Royal College of Art, London), featuring seed-exchange activities among farmers.
• 22 May, 18:00 – Public debate on "Modern lighting of artistic and cultural assets" (endorsed by the Order of Architects of the Province of Trapani).
• 1 June, 12:00 – Start of the first residency of the Cum Grano project with Mariam Meishvili (Tbilisi), supported by the Segesta Archaeological Park.
• 13 and 14 June – The Field of Bread, homage to Mario Schifano: contemporary dance performed in a wheat field at the foot of the Mother Church.
• 20 June – Workshop Rites and ritual practices. From ethnographic cinema to video-installations at Casa della Pace: a hands-on and theoretical exploration of documentary, audiovisual experimentation and installation practices.
• 3 July – Presentation of the photographic residency Gibellina, living memories through the photographer’s gaze (Nicolò Vincenzo Malvestuto).
• 4 July, 17:00 – Botanical Magic workshop: ecoprint course on fabric and paper led by botanist Roberta Di Cara.

Venues and bookings

Events take place at the temporary showroom (largo Joseph Beuys), the area below the Mother Church and the Casa della Pace. Some initiatives are free; workshops and residencies require booking.
