On Saturday 9 May, Saluzzo launched the contemporary art chapter of Start with two collective exhibitions staged in key city venues. The shows create overlapping perspectives on environment, technology and social relations.
At the Castiglia, the Fondazione Garuzzo and city representatives opened Tracciando il sentiero. Arte, ambiente e visioni del futuro, curated by Galleria CRAG (Turin) in collaboration with the Trigenia Award. Installed in the contemporary wing of the former Castle of the Marchesi, the project is on view until 13 September 2026 and presents works that reflect on ecological crises, technological acceleration and human–AI interactions.
The exhibition spans painting, installation, photography, sculpture and video, and is accompanied by a public program of talks and performances and a publication collecting essays and images.
At Il Quartiere (Piazza Montebello 1) the 31st Contemporary Art Exhibition powered by Paratissima, curated by Alessandra Villa, runs until 17 May 2026. Born from an open call, the collective responds to the theme Rincontrarsi (re-encounter), investigating reconnection with people, memories and inner landscapes. Entry is free. Opening hours: Saturday 15:00–19:00 and Sunday 10:00–19:00.
Artists featured across the two shows include Italian and international names. The Castiglia roster features twenty-six contributors such as Daniele Accossato, Botto&Bruno, Chen Li, Mattia Novello and Maurizio Sapia. Paratissima's selection presents about thirty-five artists, including Simona Bartalucci, Matteo Branconi, Giorgia Guaglianone, Marco Simonetta and Yiwen Zheng.
From 23 May to 2 June Saluzzo will also host the 49th National Antique Fair, curated by local antique dealer Franco Brancaccio. During the same period, the former Castiglia chapel will display Carlo Pittara's monumental seventeenth-century painting The Fair of Saluzzo.
Visitor tip: the two exhibitions offer complementary experiences — the Castiglia presents a long-term, reflective project on transformation and energy, while Il Quartiere offers a condensed panorama of emerging voices focused on reconnection and memory.
