Fano hosts the sixth edition of “Il Gusto dei Borghi” to honor local excellence

The Mediateca Montanari in Fano hosted the sixth edition of "Il Gusto dei Borghi", organized by Alberghi Consorziati Fano in collaboration with Confcommercio Marche Nord. The event highlights the cultural and gastronomic identity of inland villages and recognizes those who actively promote and protect them.

Organizers emphasized the importance of networking: connecting operators, local authorities and media increases visibility for historic centres and supports sustainable tourism development.

Officials and representatives present for the awards included the deputy mayor of Fano and several institutional and media figures from the region.

Award winners and reasons

• Montemaggiore al Metauro – Marta Marchetti, director of the Winston Churchill Historical Museum: honored for research work and for making the museum a cultural and educational reference point.
• Oltremondo Birrificio Contadino – Riccardo Branchini: recognized for an integrated organic production model and short supply chain that showcases local raw materials.
• Cycling events – Alighiero Omiccioli (RCS Sport contact): for the organizational role in Giro d'Italia stages in the Marche and for promoting the area.
• Mombaroccio – Emanuele Petrucci, mayor: for efforts in protecting and enhancing the historic village and its cultural and architectural heritage.
• Cartoceto – Roberto Mei, Pro Loco president: for promoting local traditions and extra virgin olive oil DOP through signature events.
• Cantiano – Cristina Tanfulli (Bar Pizzeria "Del Sole"): for commitment to local pastry traditions, notably the "torta diplomatica".
• Cerasa (San Costanzo) – Mirco Lepri (Macelleria Lepri): for artisanal excellence in meat processing and typical specialties such as porchetta.

Media recognition

The role of local broadcasters in telling the territory's stories and informing citizens was also acknowledged. Awarded figures included:
