Ripe San Ginesio has been chosen as the pilot village for Artiturismo, an innovative distributed hospitality model aimed at promoting artisan workshops and local cultural heritage. The initiative, led by Confartigianato Imprese Macerata-Ascoli Piceno-Fermo with municipal support, was launched during a two-day program on 9 and 10 May 2026.
Over the two days, local craft businesses opened their doors to visitors with themed workshops, live demonstrations and food pairings. Key elements of the program included:
The project recognizes craft enterprises as cultural as well as productive assets capable of driving development and regeneration. Artiturismo connects residents, businesses and visitors, turning a visit into an immersive experience where tourists engage directly with the community and its skills.
Regional and local officials attending the opening emphasized the initiative's role in social and economic recovery—especially in areas affected by past seismic events—and its potential to promote internal regions. The format is intended to be replicable in other communities as a tool for local revival.
For travelers interested in village experiences, Artiturismo offers a way to discover traditional crafts, support small local businesses and learn about the Marche region through responsible, participatory tourism.
