Ripe San Ginesio launches 'artiturismo': a pilot village to promote

Autore: Redazione 10/05/2026 05:47

Ripe San Ginesio: craftsmanship at the heart of village tourism

On 9 and 10 May 2026 Ripe San Ginesio presented a pilot model of territorial promotion called artiturismo. Led by the Region with support from Confartigianato and the Municipality, the initiative aims to turn traditional workshops into cultural reception points for visitors and residents.

The scheme promotes local craftsmanship not only as production but as intangible heritage able to attract sustainable tourism and support the regeneration of historic centres, especially in inland areas and municipalities affected by earthquakes.

Program highlights

  • Shop visits: special openings and live demonstrations by artisans;
  • Hands-on workshops: participatory experiences to learn traditional techniques;
  • Conferences and panels: dialogue among institutions, trade associations and local entrepreneurs;
  • Territorial network: integration of craftsmanship, food service and accommodation for a distributed tourist offer.

Why it matters for small towns

The artiturismo model seeks to establish a replicable hospitality network that enhances local skills, stimulates the economy and encourages visitors to return to historic centres. By linking craft, culture and hospitality, workshops become immersive experiences rather than mere shops.
