Rimini hosts fourth tourism conference in Sala Manzoni: “Tourism: opportunities for relations and peace”

As the summer season approaches, the Diocese of Rimini’s Office for Tourism Pastoral Care, together with the Higher Institute of Religious Sciences “A. Marvelli”, organizes the fourth edition of the conference. This year’s theme focuses on tourism as a vehicle for encounters, social relations and the promotion of peace.

The event aims to bring local institutions, academia and hospitality professionals together to discuss practical approaches and reflections on tourism’s social value. The programme includes video testimonies and an open discussion with the audience.

• Opening remarks by local authorities, including the Mayor of Rimini.
• Introduction by Mauro Vanni, director of the Diocese’s Office for Tourism Pastoral Care.
• Speeches by Prof. Alessia Mariotti (University of Bologna, Campus Rimini) and Dr. Andrea Babbi (President of Petroniana Viaggi) on “Tourism as an instrument of Peace.”
• Video testimonials featuring local operators (hoteliers, lifeguards, restaurateurs, traders).
• Audience dialogue and concluding remarks by the Bishop of Rimini, Mons. Nicolò Anselmi.

The conference is intended as a space for professionals and residents to explore how tourism can help build more inclusive communities and foster interpersonal and intercultural connections.
