Rignano Garganico readies for an eventful late May

The small town known as the “Balcony of Puglia” will host two complementary events that highlight archaeology, nature and gastronomy: a national conference on Grotta Paglicci and the “Cunz” food festival.

Main dates: May 23, 2026 (Grotta Paglicci conference); May 29–31, 2026 (Cunz festival).

The initiatives, organized by local institutions and private partners, aim to showcase key features of the area:

  • Grotta Paglicci: on May 23 a national conference titled “Grotta Paglicci, a Humanity heritage” will bring together researchers and enthusiasts to discuss protection, research and international recognition of the Paleolithic site.
  • Cunz – Gargano Food Festival: from May 29 to 31 Rignano will host tastings, workshops and outdoor experiences focused on local products such as olive oil and cheeses, with guided hikes in the Gargano National Park.

The pairing of cutting-edge archaeology and authentic local flavors aims to promote slow, high-quality tourism while engaging the local community through cultural and outdoor activities.
