Targa Florio 110th edition: UniPa at the heart of the race blending sport, culture and research

The 110th Targa Florio has kicked off with 169 registered crews and strong involvement from the University of Palermo. The viale delle Scienze campus is the operational centre, hosting technical and sporting scrutineering, the service park, the Targa Florio village and the final finish line.

  • Registered crews: 169 in total, across national championships and historic categories.
  • Student volunteers: more than 600 university students engaged in event organisation.
  • Public events: on Friday, May 15 the campus will host an evening celebration with a DJ set, food & beverage area and entertainment; the same day free health screenings will be offered in collaboration with ASP Palermo.
  • Operational schedule: start ceremony on May 14 at 18:00 in Piazza Verdi, Palermo; final finish scheduled for Saturday, May 16 from 12:00.

Organised with ACI Sport and local Automobile Clubs, the programme combines sporting competition, university research and cultural activities curated by academic departments and the university museum system, aiming to strengthen ties between the territory, sporting heritage and community participation.
