Mazzi unveils measures for Italian music and musical tourism

Gianmarco Mazzi, the new Minister of Tourism, presented in Vienna a set of initiatives aimed at supporting Italian music and promoting musical tourism as a cultural and economic driver for the country.

• Support for artists: measures to encourage productions, tours and greater international visibility.
• Promotion of major events: strengthening national festivals, with a focus on the Sanremo Festival as a cultural export showcase.
• Development of musical tourism: strategies to attract fans and encourage longer stays, benefiting local economies.
• Enhancement of tourism segments: linking musical tourism with wine tourism and roots tourism to distribute flows to smaller towns and rural areas.

The interview, given while the minister was attending Eurovision, stresses the aim of turning musical tourism into a growth engine for territories. Mazzi also recalled his collaboration with Sal Da Vinci at Sanremo 2009, highlighting the festive atmosphere such events can generate.
