Photographer Riccardo Bagnoli, curated by Paola Severini Melograni, presents a photographic exhibition at Palazzo Grifoni in San Miniato (Pisa) that highlights the determination and leadership of Italian women through powerful portraits.
The project draws on the symbolic figure of Delacroix’s Marianne: each image functions as a narrative of resistance, achievement and civic commitment. The exhibition traces key stages in the advancement of women’s rights in Italy, beginning with the introduction of universal suffrage in 1946.
Among the featured sitters is Mina Welby, known for her activism on civil rights and end-of-life issues. The show is aimed at audiences interested in contemporary photography, women’s history and social themes.
