Quarta Risonanza at GAM Turin: drawing, paper and protagonists

The Galleria d'Arte Moderna in Turin presents Quarta Risonanza, a curatorial project that highlights drawing and paper as central practices of artistic research and experimentation. The programme brings together four projects that interact with the museum's collections, tracing a path from the early 20th century to more recent experiments.

Main exhibitions

  • Un altro Novecento. Works on paper from the GAM collections (curated by Fabio Cafagna and Elena Volpato): a comprehensive overview of 20th-century works on paper, including over six hundred drawings, watercolours, prints and paintings on paper.
  • Oggi è un secolo – Vincenzo Agnetti (curated by Chiara Bertola and Virginia Lupo): an exhibition marking Agnetti's centenary, focusing on his experimentation with photography and works such as Photo-graffia.
  • Lisetta Carmi. Eroticism and authoritarianism in Staglieno (curated by Elena Volpato): a selection of photographs from the 1960s–70s placed in relation to sculptural works from the collection.
  • The Intruder. Pesce Khete (curated by Fabio Cafagna and Elena Volpato): site-specific interventions that create new dialogues with 20th-century works, emphasising paper's materiality and the use of white as a compositional element.

Why visit

Quarta Risonanza offers a close look at the creative process: paper functions as a laboratory where the mark appears in its most immediate form. The selection allows visitors to follow stylistic developments from the early 1900s to the experimental approaches of the 1990s, while dedicated sections highlight photography as a tool for research and documentation.
