The project “Let's Make a Film – from celluloid to digital stop motion” reaches Quarona with a public showing of short films created by second-year middle school classes. The initiative blends education, local heritage and hands-on audiovisual techniques.
The workshop, led by Archivio Superottimisti with teachers from the Istituto “Martiri della libertà”, involved classes 2A and 2B in producing two short films. Starting from creatively reused archival footage from the Val Mastallone, digitized by the archive, students employed stop motion techniques to craft original local stories.
The presentation will include remarks from municipal representatives and the trainers, while the students and their teachers will introduce the films. The event benefits from the patronage of the National Museum of Cinema (Turin) and support from the Municipality of Fobello, Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Vercelli and the Piedmont Region.
After the local premiere, the short films will be circulated by Archivio Superottimisti in national events, competitions and festivals to promote local memory and the creative skills developed in the workshops.
