Quadrifluox: ink that becomes light — exhibition at Palazzo Pigorini

Quadrifluox: ink transformed into light

Quadrifluox is a curatorial project by Piergiuseppe Molinar that experiments with fluorescent ink to rethink the relationship between paper, image and perception. Under UV (Wood) light, prints change state: hidden layers appear, depth shifts, and paper becomes an active element of the visual composition.

Since 2018 the project has expanded from typographic research to editorial production and narrative uses in graphic novels, bridging digital art practices and analog printing processes.

What to see

The exhibition at Palazzo Pigorini showcases the project's evolution through experimental prints, illustrations and graphic novels where fluorescence functions as both narrative device and visual technique.

  • Featured artists: Elisa Talentino, Matteo Berton, Hikimi, Davide Saraceno, Francesco Poroli, Riccardo Guasco, Daniele Catalli, Jacopo Rosati, Madeleine Frochaux, Marco Cazzato.
  • Selected graphic novels: Torino 8290 (Alessandro "Kalla" Calabrese), Panico Paura (Alessandra Rostagnotto), Rêve (Antoine Orand), and the Hello Fluo! project created with Mekit Studio.
  • Approaches: typographic experimentation, offset and mixed printing techniques combining digital algorithms and analog craftsmanship.

Why visit

  • To see how fluorescence becomes an integral structural element of the image rather than a decorative effect.
  • To explore the role of printed matter in a screen-dominated era: paper that emits light and competes with digital brightness.
  • To discover projects that merge generative design, algorithmic processes and traditional printing.
