WWF Oases Spring 2026: month-long nature events in Abruzzo

Running until 2 June 2026, the WWF Spring of the Oases brings a varied program of over 100 events across Italy. In Abruzzo the calendar features guided walks, family workshops, outdoor wellbeing activities, meetings with biologists and volunteers, and citizen science projects. The regional oases combine conservation, education and sustainable development initiatives.

• Serranella Oasis
  • 25 April, 10:30–12:00: historical and nature walk (Visitor centre, loc. Brecciaio)
  • 10 May, 09:30–12:00: shrub and tree flora identification (reservation required: SMS/WhatsApp 331-2907245)
  • 23 May, 16:30–18:00: excursion and educational activities (Life Urca Pro Emys project; reservation required)
  • 24 May, 16:00–18:30: practical course on passerines and natural watercolour (fee €15; reservation required)
  • 30 May, 18:30–20:30: outdoor theatre performance with Teatro Possibile (free participation)

  • 14 May: forum and press conference (Sala “La Figlia di Iorio”, Province of Pescara) – sessions on local communities, research and sustainable development.

  • 20 May, 09:00–13:00: activities for schools on World Bee Day.
  • 22 May, 15:30: walk on the biodiversity of the Calanchi.
