Presentation of the conference proceedings at the Museum of the Risorgimento

On Saturday, May 9 the halls of the Museum of the Risorgimento at Palazzo Farnese hosted the official presentation of the book containing the proceedings of the historical conference held last November 15 at Palazzo Rota Pisaroni. The event was organized by the Institute for the History of the Italian Risorgimento - Piacenza Committee.

Director Pietro Coppelli opened the meeting with a review of the activities carried out during the past six months, highlighting how members' commitment and supporters' backing have strengthened the Committee's profile at the national level. Coppelli emphasized the continuity and quality of the Institute's publications, which often include in-depth and previously unpublished studies.

Contributions were also made by institutional representatives: City Councilor for Culture Christian Fiazza and Regional Councilor Giancarlo Tagliaferri, who stressed the importance of promoting historical knowledge for the cultural growth of the community.

During the event the Institute's assembly awarded the honorary membership to the 2nd Pontieri Engineer Regiment of Piacenza. The honor was received by the regiment commander, Colonel Daniele Paradiso, who recalled the regiment's historical ties with the city and highlighted the symbolic value of the Monument to the Pontieri of Italy. He also noted that the monument will celebrate its centenary in 2028 and called for maintenance and enhancement interventions to restore its full dignity.

Journalist Ippolito Negri presented the book's contents, guiding the audience through more than two hundred pages and the key points of the nine contributions gathered in the proceedings.
