Valcellina Award 2026: results of the XII edition

The cloister of the Pordenone Library hosted the awards ceremony for the XII Valcellina Award, an international competition focused on contemporary textile art. The 2026 theme, "Wake up!", calls on young people to become aware of current crises and to imagine positive futures.

Ceremony, jury and participants

The awards ceremony took place on 13 May 2026 and brought together artists from Italy, China, Russia, France and Poland. The event was presented by Annamaria Poggioli, president of the Le Arti Tessili association. The jury included national and international experts in fiber art and new media.

Awarded works

  • 1st Prize (dedicated to Lydia Predominato) — Marianna Lisiecka-Syska (Poland), "Divide, I’m losing my human form". Prize: a scholarship of €2,000 and a free course at the Accademia Internazionale d’Alta Moda e d’Arte del Costume Koefia, Rome.
  • 2nd Prize — Johanna Fusco Monaco (France), "Cartografie dell’invisibile XI". Prize: a scholarship of €1,500 and a free course at Fondazione Arte della Seta Lisio, Florence.
  • 3rd Prize — Yuxin Liu and Zi Xuan Liu (China), "Ferite morbide". Prize: a scholarship of €1,000 and a workshop at the Summer Symposium Textile Kultur Haslach (Austria).
  • 4th Prize — Maria Antonela Bresug (Romania), "Etichette". Prize: a scholarship of €500 and a course at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Urbino.
  • Special Artist Residency — Jingyu Lin and Ying Xiong (China), "Ricucire il caso": two-week residency in Maniago (PN) with accommodation and a solo show at the Gina Morandini Contemporary Textile Art Gallery.
  • Calimala Special Prize — Anastasiia Artiukhina (Russia), "Il flusso infinito": a €250 gift card redeemable on the partner e-commerce.
  • Special Mention — Carmen Buonanno (Italy), "Show the world your existence".

Exhibition and related events

The 19 selected works are on display in the Exhibition Hall of the Pordenone Library. Contemporary dance performances accompanied visitors, providing a performative reading of the textile pieces.
