Starting 31 May 2026, the Centro per l'arte contemporanea Luigi Pecci in Prato presents two concurrent exhibitions that examine late 20th-century artistic practices and performative photography. The shows propose complementary routes focused on archives, performance documentation, painting and questions of identity and the body.
Curator: Stefano Pezzato — Installation: Ibrahim Kombarji
ROTTE gathers around 150 works from the Carlo Palli donation to retrace critical trajectories in art from the second half of the 20th century. The selection includes painting, objects, visual poetry and archival materials that highlight intersections between artistic practices and experimental languages.
Curators: Alessandra Acocella, Michele Bertolino, Monica Gallai — Installation: Giuseppe Ricupero
CARNALE is the first extensive survey at an Italian contemporary art centre dedicated to Verita Monselles (1929–2004). The exhibition investigates photography as an autobiographical and political tool, with a strong focus on the body, identity and the female role in visual culture between the 1960s and 1980s.
These exhibitions consolidate Centro Pecci's role as a reference point for the study of late 20th-century practices and for the promotion of female figures in Italian photography. Recommended for visitors interested in archival research, performance and photographic investigation.
