The exhibition "Piccolo mondo antico. Visual fables from two private collections" has opened in Suzzara, focusing on naïve painting. The show features works selected from the collections of Angelo Leidi and Sergio Zanichelli, depicting rural life, popular celebrations, animals and landscapes rendered with vivid colours and a poetic, direct language.
The selection highlights the vitality of an artistic current often seen as marginal but deeply connected to popular culture and regional memory. The works present everyday scenes filtered through emotion and reminiscence, creating small visual stories characterised by simplicity and dreamlike perspectives.
During the opening the collectors will guide visitors through the works and their collecting journey. The exhibition speaks to a wide audience — from art enthusiasts to lovers of local tradition — offering a poetic glimpse of the Po Valley seen through the eyes of naïve artists.
