Easter 2026 in the Tuscan Archipelago: program and practical details

For the Easter holidays the National Park of the Tuscan Archipelago is running a program of excursions and guided visits aimed at locals and visitors. Activities on Elba, Pianosa and Capraia include hikes, e-bike routes and cultural visits that highlight the islands' natural and historical assets.

Elba Island

• Saturday, April 4 – E-bike tour from Porto Azzurro: a route through cultivated lands and hills with panoramic stops and a final tasting at a local farm. Meeting at 9:30 AM (supermarket parking). Approximate duration: 5 hours. Level: medium. Some mountain bike experience recommended. Participation by reservation (fee applies).
• Sunday, April 5 – Easter afternoon hike at Capo Enfola: coastal walk with cliffs, viewpoints and WWII historical sites. Meeting at 4:00 PM in Portoferraio (Capo Enfola). Duration: about 2 hours. Level: easy. Fee with reduced rates for children.
• Monday, April 6 – Guided visit to Volterraio Fortress: the site opens with a Park guide present between 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM. The monument can also be reached independently via the marked trail; booking is not required for a self-guided visit. Tickets include concessions for seniors, residents and children.

Pianosa

A daily maritime connection operates on selected days around the holiday period (check updated timetables). On arrival, visitors can take part in nature treks, mountain bike routes, and guided tours of the village, catacombs and the Agronomist's House. Activities are led by Park Guides and require booking through the Park's official channels.

Capraia

• Sunday, April 5 – Zenobito loop: a geotourism itinerary showcasing the island's volcanic origins. From the village square participants climb Monte Arpagna for 360° views, descend to the wild Zenobito plain and return along a high coastal path. Meeting at 9:00 AM in the village square. Duration: about 7 hours. Level: very demanding. Recommended equipment: hiking boots, at least 2.5 L of water and packed lunch. Places are limited and reserved via booking (fee applies).
